Diamond Peak Tie Trail #4239


This trail is a tie-through trail for the Diamond Peak Trail and the Vivian Lake Trail.

This easy trail passes by two small lakes as the traveler enjoys the open stands of mountain hemlock, pacific silver fir and noble fir. Extensive areas of huckleberry and bear grass cover the forest floor.

From Oakridge, OR, travel east on Highway 58 for 2 miles to Kitson Springs County Road. Turn right and proceed on Kitson Springs County Road (which becomes Forest Road 23) for about 20 miles to the Vivian Lake Trailhead located on the left side of Forest Road 23. Hike the Vivian Lake Trail approximately 0.5 miles to the Diamond Pead Tie Trail junction and turn left.

To reach the opposite end of the trail, continue driving on Forest Road 23 for another 2 miles to the Diamond Peak Trailhead. Hike up the Diamond Peak Trail about 0.75 miles to the Diamond Peak Tie Trail junction. The first segment of the Diamond Peak Trail has a very steep grade.
