Williams Lake Trail #3589

  

The Williams Lake Trail is reached after a 0.5 mile hike on the Erma Bell Trail No. 3563, starting from Taylor Burn Forest Camp. The trail takes the visitor near the shoreline of Williams Lake. From Williams Lake the trail is more primitive and encounters several steep pitches in and out of drainages. It runs along and through several meadows of various sizes. After crossing one final meadow, the trail descends a short way to Irish Mountain Trail No. 3588 near Otter Lake.

General Information

Directions:

Travel east on Highway 58 from the City of Oakridge for 23 miles to Forest Road 5897 (Waldo Lake Road). Turn left and follow Forest Road 5897 for 11 miles to Forest Road 5898, which leads to North Waldo and Islet Campgrounds. Continue left (main paved road) on Forest Road 5898 and drive toward North Waldo Campground and turn right onto Forest Road 5898-514 (Taylor Burn Road). Follow Forest Road 514 for 7 miles to the trailhead, which is located on the left side of the road.

General Notes:

Map of Williams Lake trailForest Road 5898-214 (Taylor Burn Road) is an unimproved dirt road and a high clearance vehicle is recommended. The road is not recommended for trailers. Be prepared for hordes of mosquitoes until mid summer. Be sure to camp 200 or more feet from the shoreline.
