The trail meanders through young Douglas-fir and Western Hemlock forest ending at Henline Falls. Here you will find remnants of old mining from the 1930's.

Parking Restrictions

Forest Road 2209

  • Parking allowed only along the south shoulder within ¼ mile of the Opal Creek Trailhead and at the designated trailhead parking areas for Henline Falls, Henline Mountain and Nasty Rock Trailheads. 
  • 15 minute parking limit at the visitor information kiosk at the 2209/2207 road junction.

General Notes:

Use caution and supervise children and pets closely near waterfall. Slippery rocks, uneven terrain and steep drop offs can be very dangerous. The abandoned mine does contain some hazards such as wet slippery floors, low ceilings and small rocks scattered on the floor.
