Walton Ranch Interpretive Trail #4170

Herd of elk across dry field behind split rail fence at Walton Homestead

If you are looking for a panoramic view of the lower canyon, or warming up before trekking to Rooster Rock, check out this trail.

The trail crosses Trout Creek and ends at two viewing platforms. The first platform provides a view of the Walton Ranch site and wildlife habitat area. The second platform provides a better view of the west end of the meadow, where elk concentrate during winter months.

Both trail and viewing platforms are designed to be wheelchair accessible, with a fine graveled surface on the parking lot and trail.
