The mixed conifers at 16 site (14 single, 2 multiple) Slide Creek Campground provide a beautiful wooded setting for this unique camping destination along the east bank of the Cougar Reservoir just 50 miles from Eugene, Oregon. Both campground and the day use area guests have access to drinking water, vault toilets, a boat ramp, ample parking and a swimming beach. A separate parking lot is available for boat trailers. The campsites can accommodate tents, trailers or RVs and come equipped with campfire rings and picnic tables.

Enjoy boating and other water activities on the reservoir or a soak in nearby Terwilliger Hot Springs

Current Conditions: Updated 8/20/21: Forest Service Road 19 (Aufderheide Drive) is closed to thru traffic near mile post 52 on the north side due to continued safety hazards. Slide Creek Campground is accessible through Forest Service Road (FSR) 500 on the east side of Cougar Reservoir by entering from FSR 19 and turning left at the dam onto FSR 500. This will bring you out by Slide Creek Campground. FSR 500 is dirt and gravel, and very rough in spots. View FSR 19 closure order and maps. The campground is not accessible from the south on FSR 19 due to the Middle Fork Complex Fire closure order - see map.
Reservations: Reserve online at www.recreation.gov or phone 1.877.444.6777. Over half the campsites are available for advance reservation via recreation.gov. The remainder are first come first serve.

General Information

Directions:

From Blue River, OR, travel 4 miles east on Highway 126 to Aufderheide Drive (Forest Road 19).

Proceed south on Aufderheide Drive, turning right at the Y and climbing to the top of Cougar Reservoir.  

Continue south on Aufderheide Drive for 8 miles to Forest Road 500.

Turn left on Forest Road 500 and continue north for 1.5 miles to Slide Creek Campground and Day Use Area.
