Jim Weaver Loop Trail (Waldo Lake Trail) #3590
This loop trail around Waldo Lake consists mostly of easy grades through rolling country. The only exception is the area south of Green Lake where several short, fairly steep pitches exist. The numerous primitive campsites around the lake are often best accessed by boat. Much of the trail is out of view of the lake, but worth the wait. A short spur trail at Klovdahl Bay leads to an interpretive sign telling about the tunnel through the mountain. Portions of the west and south side of the trail offer views of Mt. Bachelor, Broken Top, and the Middle and South Sister. A shelter at the south end of the lake offers a good resting spot.

The Jim Weaver Loop Trail, formerly named and commonly known as the Waldo Lake Trail, was renamed and designated as a National Recreation Trail in April 2008 to recognize the contributions of former Oregon Congressman, Jim Weaver.
The trail is well used by mountain bikers, hikers and marathon runners. Be sure to camp 200 feet or more off the shoreline and follow Leave No Trace methods so those after you can enjoy their stay. Mosquitoes go after every warm-blooded animal on the trail the first half of the season.
