Deer Creek Trail #3672

Area Status: Closed

The trail begins on the east side of Deer Creek. The trail climbs steeply a short way above Deer Creek and then proceeds on a more gradual grade. You will pass several small meadows before the trail crosses Forest Road 5899.

After entering the forest, the trail follows a gentle grade on the edge of a large meadow, then crosses the south end of the meadow and begins to climb out of the basin. You'll see views of the immediate countryside.

The trail levels out and goes through rocky, rolling terrain, ending near a small lake.

This trail offers access to the Diamond Peak Wilderness and is noted for good huckleberry fields along the route.
