Gold Lake Road Snow Trail

Gold Lake Sno-Park » Gold lake Road

This is a very popular route and probably the best beginner route in the area. The trail follows a narrow road that winds through large trees. It is mostly level except near Gold Lake, where it steepens slightly.

Gold Lake Shelter, near the outlet of the lake, is a good spot for lunch or overnight camping. Use extreme caution near the lake, as winters here are rarely cold enough to freeze the lake. You can get a good view of Diamond Peak by skiing to the north end of the lake via the Gold Lake Trail, which starts a short distance west of the bridge.
