UNIVERSAL DESIGN
Implementation of universal design principles
ensures access for all people, including persons
with disabilities, to workplaces and administrative
programs and offers access to diverse recreation
opportunities. Universal design allows for
integration, choice, and dignity for all users.
• Incorporate universal design principles to
accommodate the broadest possible spectrum
of people, regardless of ability, at recreation
and administration facilities.
• Apply the most up-to-date standards, currently
the Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards
(UFAS) and the Americans with Disabilities Act
Accessibility Guidelines (ADAAG).
