    Characterize the near-surface and near-plant boundary layer response to diurnal variability as well as low-intensity fire passage. Continue investigations into techniques for using acoustics to quantify characteristics of wildland fires and the fire environment.

    Wildland fire behavior research in two focus areas: 1. Combustion-lab approach to assessing the response of live vegetation to low-intensity surface fire passage. 2. Development of passive acoustic sampling techniques of wildland fire.
