Abstract

This publication was prepared under the sponsorship of the Committeeon Southern Forest Tree Improvement by the Subcommittee on Tree Selection and Breeding. It is the purpose of the Committee: to advise and assist those interested in the improvement of southern forest trees in arranging and conducting research and development programs; to provide a clearing house for information on forest tree improvements; to provide for or assist in coordination in the conduct of a Southwide program of tree improvement research and development; and to foster and encourage the advancement of knowledge of southern tree genetics.
