Abstract

U.S. pulpwood production totaled 83.1 million cords in 2017, and roundwood accounted for 75 percent (62.2 million cords) of the Nation’s total pulpwood production. There were 121 pulpmills in operation that drew wood from 35 of the lower 48 States. The Southern region produced 80 percent of the National total pulpwood production.
