This data publication contains audio and transcriptions of in-depth qualitative interviews of visitors, local residents, and scientists at Auyuittuq National Park (ANP) and Quttinirpaaq National Park (QNP) of Nunavut, Canada conducted in 2003. The interviews were meant to obtain information and feedback regarding visitor experiences. This data publication also contains survey responses from visitors to ANP in 2004.

Gates of the Arctic Kobuk River: 2001 sport hunter survey data

Tenderfoot Creek Experimental Forest daily average streamflow data: 1992-2001

This data publication contains daily average streamflow from October 1992 through September 2001 for 11 stream gauging stations located on the Tenderfoot Creek Experimental Forest (TCEF) which is located in the Little Belt Mountains of Central Montana, USA. Streamflow was measured at two locations on Tenderfoot Creek (Upper and Lower) as well as seven subwatersheds.

Effective conservation and management decisions for habitats require information about the distribution of multiple species but such data is expensive to obtain; this often limits data collection to just a few, high-profile species. Environmental DNA (eDNA) sampling can be more sensitive, and less expensive, than traditional sampling for aquatic species, and a single sample potentially contains DNA from all species present in a waterbody. Cost-savings accrue if eDNA collected for detecting a particular species can be repurposed to detect additional species. This study tested the feasibility of repurposing and re-analyzing already collected samples.   

Climate change effects on rangelands and rangeland management: Affirming the need for monitoring

Uncertainty as to the extent and magnitude of changes in conditions that might occur due to climate change poses a problem for land and resource managers as they seek to adapt to changes and mitigate effects of climate variability. We illustrate using scenarios of projected future conditions on rangelands in the Northern Great Plains and Desert Southwest of the United States.
