Results of the 2002 annual inventory of Missouri''s forest resources show an estimated 14.5 million acres of forest land. The oak-hickory type is the predominant forest type on the landscape, making up over 70 percent of all forested land. Pinyon-juniper (primarily eastern redcedar) is the primary softwood component by acreage, although shortleaf pine makes up the majority of the volume.

Indiana's forest resources in 2002.

Results of the 2002 annual inventory of Indiana show 4.5 million acres of forest land. The oak-hickory type is the largest forest type on the landscape, making up over 46.5 percent of all forested land. Softwoods (or "conifers") comprise approximately 2.5 percent of Indiana''s forested acreage.

Results of the 2001 fifth annual inventory of Missouri?s forest resources show an estimated 14.7 million acres of forest land in the State. The oak hickory type is the predominant forest type on the landscape, making up over 70 percent of all forested land. Between 1989 and 1999-2001, the net volume of all live trees on timberland increased by 29 percent, from 13.8 billion cubic feet to 17.8 billion cubic feet.

Comprehensive inventory of Utah's forest resources, 1993

This report presents the results of an inventory of Utah's forest lands, completed in 1995. It is the first of its kind for the Interior West States in that it includes all forested lands, regardless of ownership or administrative status. It also includes information on a multitude of forest ecosystem attributes.

This report presents a summary of the most recent inventory of New Mexico’s forests based on field data collected between 2008 and 2014. The results presented here summarize a complete cycle of New Mexico’s forest inventory, or 10 years’ worth of data collection, whereas the previous report was based only on 9 years’ worth of data collected under an accelerated implementation schedule between 2008 and 2012.

Forest resources of the Wasatch-Cache National Forest

The 1,215,219 acres in the Wasatch-Cache National Forest encompass 863,906 acres of forest land, made up of 90 percent (776,239 acres) "timberland" and 10 percent (87,667 acres) "woodland." The other 351,313 acres of the Wasatch-Cache are nonforest or water (fig. 1). This report discusses forest land only.
