FIRE-TROL FIREGEL Fuel Gelling Agent is a powdered aluminum soap suitable for gelling various types of hydrocarbons. The ease of dispersion and quick gelling properties make this product especially suited for gelling hydrocarbons, which will subsequently be used in helitorch or terratorch applications for prescribed burning and fire management operations. Fire-Trol Holdings, L.L.C. is the exclusive U.S.A. distributor for FIRE-TROL Fuel Gelling Agent. This product was previously sold as SUREFIRE®.

PACKAGING

FIRE-TROL FIREGEL Fuel Gelling Agent is supplied in 50-lb. bags. For smaller orders, each bag is shipped in a cardboard container; for larger orders of 1,050 lb. (21 x 50 lb. bags), the product is shipped in a palletized cardboard container.

PRODUCT BENEFITS
  1. Easily dispersed.
  2. Relatively quick gelation rates.
  3. Good low temperature performance.
  4. Will gel a variety of hydrocarbons including gasoline, diesel and jet fuel.
  5. Packaged in water resistant bags to withstand field conditions.

  • Over 60°F fuel temperature: Add 3-4 lb. FIRE-TROL FIREGEL Fuel Gelling Agent to 55 gallons of fuel; gelling will be rapid.
  • 40°- 60°F fuel temperature: Add 4-5 lb. FIRE-TROL FIREGEL Fuel Gelling Agent to 55 gallons of fuel: wait up to 30 minutes for gelling.
  • Less than 40°F fuel temperature: Add 6-7 lb. FIRE-TROL FIREGEL Fuel Gelling Agent to 55 gallons of fuel; wait over 45 minutes for gelling.

Note—Fuel should be fresh and in clean containers. Contaminated fuel will not gel well.
