Provides information on a problem with the clear polyvinyl bags that protect fire shelters. The pull strips on the bags can break off before the bag has been opened enough to remove the shelter. As a temporary fix, the Missoula Technology and Development Center recommmends pulling the tabs halfway down on each side of the polyvinyl bag.
