Identifies resources Web designers can use to make electronic information more accessible. In June 2001 new accessibility standards for Web sites and other forms of electronic information went into effect. Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act Amendments of 1998 directs Federal agencies to ensure that everyone with a disability has access to information that is available electronically. The Tech Tip provides information about three programs (JAWS, Bobby, and PageScreamer) that can help Web designers identify and correct accessibility problems. Tips are provided to help make materials in Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, and Acrobat files more accessible.
