Davies, Mary Ann. 2007. Using the DataRam 4 Smoke Particulate Monitor Training Presentation. 0725 2F01. Missoula, MT: U.S. Department of Agriculture, Forest Service, National Technology and Development Program.

Wildland and prescribed fires generate smoke. The particulate matter in smoke can be harmful to human health and impair visibility. The DataRAM 4 is a portable device for monitoring smoke. When the DataRAM 4 is connected to the satellite transmission unit, it sends data hourly to the Interagency Real-Time Smoke Particulate Monitoring Web site.
