Trails in wet areas sometimes have problems, such as erosion and sedimentation, which leave trail users unhappy. One way to reduce these problems is to use geosynthetics. These materials perform three major functions: separating wet soil from the trail bed, reinforcing the trail bed, and draining the trail. This report helps trail managers understand basic design concepts for using geosynthetics in wet areas.
