Trees and shrubs in a greenhouse sometimes grow so large they must be pruned before being transplanted. The Forest Service's Lucky Peak Nursery in Boise, ID needed a way to top prune a number of trees and shrubs at the same time. The Missoula Technology and Development Center developed a prototype pruner using AgriNomix shears mounted on a 20-foot rail system. This tech tip describes the development and use of the pruner, while the report explains the pruner assembly, operating, and maintenance instructions.
