Monitoring Water Quality: Collecting Stream Samples and Collecting Lake Samples

By Mary Ann Davies and Lisa Outka-Perkins

The Forest Service is responsible for protecting watersheds in the National Forest System from air pollution and land uses. Forest Service employees monitor hundreds of lakes and streams by collecting clean, high-quality water samples for lab analysis and data interpretation. This closed-captioned DVD presents two separate programs (one for streams and one for lakes) that describe the proper procedures for collecting water samples and measurements.
