Danger Tree Mitigation Guidelines for Managers

Danger trees (also known as hazard trees) are a safety concern for anyone working on or visiting public lands. This report provides information to help land managers understand three methods (blasting, mechanical felling, manual felling with chain saws) and one technique (avoidance) for mitigating danger trees. Safety issues, logistics, expected production rates, and estimated costs are discussed.
