The MTDC has been actively involved in the investigation and evaluation of DGPS technologies for over 7 years. The purpose of this Tech Tip is not to endorse a specific product but to give Forest Service personnel a basis for comparison. The Center's employees have seen five operational aircraft navigation systems demonstrated and have received literature or viewed desktop demonstrations on many more. Users of this technology need to evaluate equipment based on their specific needs and operational circumstances. The Center's personnel are available to share information and experience.
