Self Loading Truck

A self-loading log-truck has a (small) boom and grapple mounted on to the chassis. It is typically either mounted just behind the cab, or otherwise at the end of the truck (as shown in the photo). If mounted at the end of the truck it can also load a trailer. A self-loading truck is independent of the rest of the logging operation, and therefore flexible, but has reduced payload capability because of the additional weight.
