| Phos-Chek LC-95D-R is a wet concentrate formulation that uses ammonium polyphosphate (10-34-0) as the fire retardant salt. The formulation is gum-thickened and yields mixed retardant having a low (75-225 centipoise) viscosity for improved drop characteristics from a variety of drop platforms. Phos-Chek LC-95D-R contains a corrosion inhibitor and iron oxide color. Mixing occurs through simple proportioning of the retardant concentrate and water. The resulting mixed retardant is pumped directly into the aircraft without intermediate storage. | ||

| Qualification: | Qualified for use from a permanent or temporary base and can be applied from a fixed-wing airtanker or helicopter bucket. | |
| Use Level: | 1 gallon of liquid concentrate mixed with 4.25 gallons of water will produce 5.21 gallons of mixed retardant. Each gallon of mixed retardant contains the equivalent of 2.30 pounds or approximately 0.19 gallon of liquid concentrate. | |
| Yield: | 1 ton of liquid concentrate yields 869 gallons of mixed retardant. | |
| Viscosity: | 75-225
centipoise (cP). Field measurement for the viscosity (Marsh Funnel) is 31-36 seconds through the small tip. |

| Salt Content: | 8.7
percent by weight, P205 equivalent. Field measurement (Refractometer): A reading of 14.8 indicates a proper salt content. A reading between 13.75 and 15.8 indicates an acceptable salt content. |

| Specific Weight: | 9.09 and 11.99 lb/gal, respectively; for mixed retardant and liquid concentrate. | |
