Forest Service frontliners greet visitors, answer the phone, handle the mail, issue permits, sell maps, answer questions, and complete other duties as assigned.

Most work days are pleasant and uneventful. On rare occasions frontliners face dangerous situations, such as bomb threats or confrontations with angry visitors who can become violent.
