Figure 2 Long Description

Figure 2—Use this flowchart to determine the regulatory category of a Forest Service-owned water system.
Flowchart used to determine the regulatory category of a Forest Service-owned water system for a small non-community drinking water system. The flowchart starts with the statement "System serves 15 service connections or 25 people at least 60 days per year." From this statement there is either a "Yes" or "No" outcome.
Based on a "yes" outcome, the system is "Public." The next statement reads, "Serves 25 or more people who live onsite year round" and has a "Yes" or "No" outcome. If the outcome is "Yes," it is a "Community, Example: Subdivision." If the outcome is "No," it is a "Non-Community." The next statement reads, "Serves same 25 people at least 6 months per year" with an outcome of "Yes" or "No." If the outcome is "No," it is a "Transient Non-Community (TNC), Example: Campground." If the outcome is "Yes," it is "Non-Transient Non-Community (NTNC), Example: Office."
Moving back to the initial statement, "System serves 15 service connections or 25 people at least 60 days per year," if the outcome is "No," the system is "Non-Public." The next statement reads, "Serves less than 25 residents (year round) or less than 25 of the same persons more than 180 days per year" with an outcome of "Yes" or "No." If the outcome is "Yes," the system is "Non-Public Non-Transient (NPNT)." If the outcome is "Yes," the system is " Non-Public Transient (NPT)."
