Mounting Methods
Five graphics which show the different methods for mounting signs.
In the top left hand corner, a graphic shows the typical mounting method for signs on a post. There are two signs mounted on the post, the top sign reads, "FIRE ACTIVITY AHEAD" and is mounted at a minimum of five feet from the ground. The lower sign reads, "NEXT 5 MILES" and should be mounted a minimum of four feet from the ground.
In the top right hand corner, a graphic shows the typical mounting method for signs on a retractable sign stand. The sign has text that reads, "FIRE TRAFFIC ENTERING ROAD" and is mounted on the the stand with a one foot minimum above the traveled way.
Under the graphic of the sign in the top right had corner, is a graphic of the typical mounting method for signs on a tripod. A sign with a graphic of a flagger is mounted on a tripod and the bottom of the sign must be at a one foot minimum above traveled way.
In the lower right had corner, a graphic shows the typical mounting method for signs on a high-level warning device. On top of the stand are three orange flags that must be a minimum of eight feet from the ground.
The lower left hand corner has a graphic of the typical mounting method for signs that are mounted on a barricade. A sign of a flagger is mounted on the barricade along with optional orange flags. The bottom of the sign must be mounted one foot above traveled way.
