Figure 24 Long Description

Graphic showing the correct sign placement points for Drop Point areas.

Diagram is of a two lane road with one full 4-way intersection and one T-intersection. There is a series of orange, rectangular signs indicating directions to drop points.

This image portrays a two-lane highway, with traffic proceeding in opposite directions on each lane of the road. At the center is a T-shaped road that merges into the main highway from the right side, and contains text reading, Single drop point, with an orange arrow pointing to the right. Toward the top is a full T-shaped road that intersects the main highway from both sides, with each side containing text that reads Multiple drop points, and includeing an orange arrow pointing to the right (on the right side) or the left (on the left side).

Several signs are placed on the bottom right corner of the image:

  1. A rectangular orange sign with a black border and black text that reads Drop 6 Point. The number 6 in the sign is circled and is placed between the words Drop and Point. Underneath the Drop 6 Point sign is a separate orange-colored sign with a circled arrow pointing to the right.

  2. A similar series of signs is placed upside down at the top left corner of this image to indicate they would be placed in view of the oncoming traffic in the opposite lane of the highway.

  3. Further up the roadway is a rectangular orange sign with a black border and black text that reads Drop Points. A black arrow pointing to the left precedes the numbers 1, 2, 3. Below that the numbers 4, 5, 8 are followed by a black arrow pointing to the right.
