FSH 6309.11, Section 23—Safety (continued):

  1. Advise the contractor that Forest Service employees will not inspect or accept the work under conditions where hazards or unsanitary conditions have not been mitigated to the extent required by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration.

  2. Advise the contractor that any subcontract entered into pursuant to the contract shall similarly provide a work environment that is sanitary and not hazardous.

  3. Advise the contractors that they must initiate and maintain an accident prevention program, which includes frequent and regular inspections of the project site, materials, and equipment.

  4. Advise contractors that all accidents resulting in death, occupational disease, disabling injury, or property damage must be reported to the Contracting Officer.
