DescriptionNew root and shoot growth of black walnut seedlings were strongly dependent on the amount of time they were kept at a cold temperature. Physiological dormancy ended after approximately 3,100 hours at 3C, but growth responses continued to increase after 4,600 hours. Root regeneration was strongly correlated with shoot growth.
