DescriptionOrganic layer consumption during forest fires is hard to quantify. These data suggest that the adventitious root methods developed for reconstructing organic layer depths following wildfires in boreal black spruce forests can also be applied to mixed tamarack forests growing in temperate regions with glacially transported soils.
