Your national forests and grasslands are 193 million acres of vast, scenic beauty waiting for you to discover. Over 3 million acres of land located in 22 National Recreation Areas managed by the Forest Service is preserved for recreational activities like hiking, boating, fishing and swimming, while highlighting natural, cultural and scenic resources. Visitors who choose to recreate on these public lands find 164,000 miles of trails, over 30,000 recreation sites, over 5,000 miles of streams and 3 million acres of lakes, 127 alpine ski areas, 338,000 heritage sites, and specially designated sites that include 37 million acres of designated wilderness areas, 130 wild and scenic rivers, 15 monuments, and one preserve. Pheasant Fields and TWRA Tellico Fish Hatchery

Phelps Creek Campground/Horse Camp

Located near the confluence of Phelps Creek and the Chiwawa River, about 23 miles from Fish Lake, there are 7 tent sites and 6 equestrian sites at this campground.

Phelps Creek Trailhead

This trailhead provides access to the Phelps Creek Trail #1511 which enters Glacier Peak Wilderness at 2.6 miles. This trailhead also accesses Carne Mountain Trail #1508.

Phi Kappa Campground

The campground has 21 campsites in a beautiful wooded setting. Amenities include one handpump to provide potable water (the natural color of which is rusty), and two vault toilets. Water is only available during the summer months. Non-reservable campground with $10/night fee. Nearby areas of Interest are Kane Lake, Big Fall Creek Lake, Sun Valley/Ketchum Area.

Phil's Trailhead

This is one of the most popular mountain biking trailheads in the Pacific Northwest. Numerous trails of varying difficulty originate at this trailhead, including Phil's Trail. This area has quick access to Bend with a small parking area and a toilet.

Philipsburg Bay Campground

Philipsburg Bay Campground is adjacent to Georgetown Lake. The 68 camping units provide ideal access to fishing, boating, and water skiing. Phillips Bench Trailhead

This is a front country trailhead located just off of Highway 22, which goes over Teton Pass out of Wilson, Wyoming. Two parking areas exist on either side of the road. Phillips Creek Day Use Area

Visitors to Phillips Creek Day Use Area enjoy creek access and picnicking. Please, keep your pet on a leash when in a recreation area or campground. The law requires dog owners to keep their dog on a leash with a length no greater than 6 feet and under physical control when within a recreational area, such as a campground or day use area (36 CFR 2616(j)).

Philson Crossroads Rifle Range
