Your national forests and grasslands are 193 million acres of vast, scenic beauty waiting for you to discover. Over 3 million acres of land located in 22 National Recreation Areas managed by the Forest Service is preserved for recreational activities like hiking, boating, fishing and swimming, while highlighting natural, cultural and scenic resources. Visitors who choose to recreate on these public lands find 164,000 miles of trails, over 30,000 recreation sites, over 5,000 miles of streams and 3 million acres of lakes, 127 alpine ski areas, 338,000 heritage sites, and specially designated sites that include 37 million acres of designated wilderness areas, 130 wild and scenic rivers, 15 monuments, and one preserve. Pine Point Boat Ramp Boating Site

Pine Point Day Use Area and Boat Ramp is located on the shores of Timothy Lake in the shadow of Mt. Hood. It is a beautiful place for fishing, picnicking, swimming, or starting a hike or bike ride on a nearby trail. Area is accessible.

Pine Point Campground

Midway up the Vallecito Reservoir lakeshore, Pine Point campground has 28 sites, including 13 first-come, first-serve spots. This campground boasts gorgeous views of high peaks to the northwest.There are several pull-thru and larger sites for trailers and RVs. Pine Point Campground (group/family)

Pine Point Campground can be used as either a single site family campground on an "as needed basis" by the Shasta Recreation Company (Concessionaire to the Forest Service), OR as a group campground.  All campsites have picnic tables, grills, fire rings, tent pads, bear boxes and paved parking spurs.

Pine Ridge Recreation Area

This campground and day use area is located in a pine forest. The short-leaf pine surrounding the area was planted by the CCC in the 1930’s. This is popular spot for visitors using the 36-mile Cedar Creek Trail to stop for the night. A large field in the day use area is perfect for tossing around a frisbee.

Pine Ridge Trailhead from Big Sur

There are multiple river crossings are required to access Sykes Hot Springs on the Pine Ridge trail (regardless of which trailhead visitors use). This is a popular campground during fishing season. Recreation opportunities include hunting, picnicking, mushroom gathering and berry picking. The picnic shelter is a Civilian Conservation Corps construction from the mid 1940's.

Pine River Rearing Run Path

The picnic area is a Civilian Conservation Corps construction from the mid-1900's. This path is within a premier area for viewing Kirtland's warblers. Other recreation opportunities include hunting, picnicking, mushroom gathering and berry picking. Fishing for trout is also popular.
