Throughout the year, the forest has seasonal campground closures or closures due to inclement weather or fire. For information on recreation closures, please call an Angeles National Forest office or visit our recreation section for current statuses.

Road conditions throughout the Angeles National Forest - San Gabriel Mountains National Monument can change suddenly due to weather conditions or fire activity.

Angeles National Forest Fire Conditions

Fire Use Restrictions on the Angeles are determined by a graduated system that becomes more restrictive as fire danger levels increase.

As a visitor to the national forest, you are asked to follow certain rules designed to protect the forest and the natural resources and to provide for the public safety of visitors. These rules are available to you online for your review. Forest officers are empowered to enforce the Federal Regulations which the rules listed in the brochure are taken from.
