Lake Tahoe Bird Festival

The U.S. Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit and the Tahoe Institute for Natural Science (TINS) invites the public to attend the fifth annual Lake Tahoe Bird Festival on Saturday, June 7, 2014, from 10 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.  The event is free and takes place at the Taylor Creek Visitor Center, located three miles north of South Lake Tahoe on Highway 89.

The event includes guided bird walks at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 12:30 p.m. along the Rainbow Trail, a bird contest for all ages, information on migratory birds and spotting scope use, and a presentation by Master Falconer Marie Gaspari Crawford that includes live birds of prey.

Additional participants include the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Lahontan, Cabela's, and TINS. For more information about TINS, visit
