Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest Outfitters and Guides

The Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest partners with private service providers to offer recreational opportunities out in the forest. These companies can outfit and guide forest visitors on a variety of activities ranging from casual to high adventure. Casual guided activities can include sight-seeing tours, wildlife viewings, fishing, hiking and snowshoeing. The more adventurous can hone their skills on technical rock and ice climbing, skiing down a volcano or rafting a raging river! Our outfitter and guides also provide educational opportunities for learning about avalanche dangers and rescue skills, leadership, wilderness ethics and forest conservation.

Each outfitter may cater to a certain core clientele, but they can also tailor special trips and curriculum based on an individual client’s needs. Youth groups, clubs and community recreation centers can contact our outfitters to discuss recreational opportunities. Outfitters and guides require special-use permits to operate on national forest land.

The Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest is accepting temporary outfitter and guide permit applications. A limited number of permits are available in various locations for river boating and fishing, climbing, hiking and skiing. Apply
