Colville and Okanogan-Wenatchee Forest Plan Revision -- Public Meetings

2011 Proposed Action Public Scoping Meeting Notes

Public scoping is a valuable step in the analysis process. The Proposed Action is shared, new information gathered, the overall scope of the analysis is defined, and Issues are identified from public concerns that will be used to develop the alternatives and otherwise refine the analysis that will be documented in the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS).

To initiate the scoping step and encourage the public to submit comment s on the Proposed Action—the Forests held 9 public meetings in communities throughout the planning area: Colville, Republic, Okanogan, Newport, Wenatchee, Yakima, and Cle Elum, WA. Meetings were also held in in Spokane and Seattle, WA. The Methow Valley Ranger District also hosted an information meeting in Twisp, WA.

Two information webinars were also offered.
