Medicine Bow-Routt National Forests Day Use Pass

The Medicine Bow-Routt National Forests offer an annual Day Use Pass that may be purchased at any ranger district office and at the visitor centers during normal business hours.

* The cost is $30 per year.

* Pass is valid for one calendar year (January 1 to December 31).

* This pass is available to anyone.

* Pass is a valid substitute for day use fees (see below for examples) on the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forests.

Brush Creek/Hayden Ranger District

  • Lakeview Picnic Area and Boat Launch at Hog Park Reservoir
  • Hog Park Picnic Area

Douglas Ranger District

  • Laramie Peak Trailhead

Hahns Peak/Bears Ears Ranger District

  • Dumont Lake Picnic Area
  • Hahns Peak Lake Day Use Area
  • Hahns Peak Lake Eastside Day Use Area
  • Ferndale Picnic Area
  • Fish Creek Falls Recreation Area
  • Freeman Reservoir

Laramie Ranger District

  • Trailheads: Tie City, Happy Jack, Corner Mountain, Little Laramie, Sugarloaf Recreation Area, and Chimney Park
  • Boat Ramps and Day Use Areas: Rob Roy and Lake Owen
  • Picnic Areas: Vedauwoo, Blair, Wallis, Fir, Libby and Lewis Lakes, Green Rock, and Barber Lake

Parks Ranger District

  • Teal Lake Picnic Area
  • Big Creek Lake Picnic Area and Boat Launch
  • Seven Lakes Trailhead

Yampa Ranger District

  • No fee is collected at either the Bear Lake Picnic Area or the Blacktail Picnic Area

Note: Valid Interagency Recreation Annual, Senior, or Access Passes, as well as Golden Age, Golden Eagle, or Golden Access Passports are accepted at these sites in lieu of a Day Use Pass or collecting day use fees.
