The Hog Fire Closure Order will facilitate unimpeded ingress and egress for fire and other emergency responders, as well as owners, lessees, and residents of land in the area—while limiting public exposure to fire danger and impaired visibility due to smoke.
Forest Order No. 06-20-08 Developed Recreation Site Closures
[T]o provide for public and employee health and safety by keeping developed recreation sites, except those listed in Exhibit A and trailheads, closed on the Lassen National Forest through November 1, 2020. This closure may be terminated or extended as conditions warrant.
Almanor Ranger District Commercial Fuelwood Permit Request
Commercial Fuelwood Permits are valid for use on the Lassen National Forest, Almanor Ranger District (Zone IV) ONLY. The cost is $10.00 per cord with a five cord minimum and ten cord maximum per request. Only one Commercial Fuelwood Permit and/or Third Party Permit may be active at one time.
Cutting fuelwood is part of the local culture for communities around the Lassen National Forest, as many of the homes in the area rely on the forest to heat their homes in the colder months.
