Bretz Mtn Road Extension to Dinkey Creek Road - 10S01 Reconstruction

Roadway improvement to adjoin private parcels of land for residential development as per the approved Fresno County Bretz Mill Village Specific Plan. Road will eventually be turned over to Fresno County.

Fence Meadow Communications Site

PGE and Ponderosa Telephone are proposing changes to the established communications site. The tower will be replaced, with the additions of a new building and solar panels. The purpose is for enhanced internal communications for PGE.

This Project will consist of stabilization of the rock talus and debris slide via installation of a cable net drapery system, and removal of rock talus and debris from below the origination point of the slide.

Forest Modification for Seasonal Designation

The project will provide line officers of the SNF to use discretion to modify the seasonal designation for a road, trail or area to address unpredictable conditions such as no rainfall, heavy rain or snowfall, fire danger or flooding.

French Fire Recovery and Reforestation Project

The project would remove roadside hazard trees, recover the economic value of fire-killed/ fire-damaged trees, re-establish forested conditions, manage fuel loads, and work towards eradication of invasive non-native weeds.

Fresno and Madera Counties Italian Bar Bridge Replacement

Fresno/Madera Counties are proposing to replace Italian Bar Bridge crossing the San Joaquin River. The existing bridge is 241 feet long and 12 feet wide between the railings and is classified as both structurally deficient and functionally obsolete.

Geothermal Leasing Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement

The Forest Service was a cooperating agency, assisting the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in that Agency's geothermal leasing analysis and decision. The BLM issued a record of decision on 12/17/2008.

PG&E is proposing to remove dead and live hazard trees along their Haas Woodchuck 70 kilovolt transmission line. They experience outages every winter due to trees/limbs falling onto the line.

PG&E Pesticide Use at FERC Facilities

PG&E has an ongoing problem with burrowing rodents at their Balch, Haas, and Kings River FERC authorized facilities. They are requesting the use of Diphacinone, a rodenticide previously approved for use at their Helms and Crane Valley facilities.

Ponderosa Telephone Company will be burying new fiber optic cable from the dam at Shaver Lake to the top of Musick Mtn. as they continue ti upgrade their system for increased band width and a more reliable service for customers.

Ponderosa Telephone Three New Cabinets

The proposed cabinet sites will serve as switching stations linking fiber optic cable to Ponderosa's Big Creek central office. The subscriber lines will originate from the cabinets, creating a shorter length of cable to each subscriber.

Establishment of Reach 8 of the San Joaquin River Trail by using 7.5 miles of existing system roads and trails in the area from Piyau Dome to the Mammoth TH. There is a need to construct 5 minor realignmens (~0.4 miles total) of the trail.

Renewal of Mono Hot Springs Term Special Use Permit

Issuance of a SUP authorizing the operation and maintenance of a resort and associated facilities for up to 175 people at one time.

SCE 45 Deteriorated Pole Replacements

SCE has identified 45 deteriorated poles on the High Sierra Ranger District that need to be replaced before they fall over or break, which could result in fires and/or resource damages.

SCE BC3 MEER Building

SCE has filed an application to develop a helicopter landing site near their Mono Diversion.

SCE Siphon Circuit Upgrade

Underground 3 mile section of the Siphon 4kv circuit; remove tree attachments, old cable which is not accessible, and relocate adjacent to Hwy 168. Will upgrade to 12kv cable and equipment. Will eliminate costly repairs during the winter months.

Shaver Wishon Project

Actions include felling and removing insect and disease infested trees along well traveled forest roads and selected campgrounds to reduce the risk of further insect and disease infestation within the project area and provide for public safety.

Sierra National Forest OSV Grooming Program

The High Sierra Ranger District proposes to permit grooming on up to 215 miles of the designated snowmobile routes and two trailheads for the period of November 2012 through April 2020. The project is located forest-wide outside of wilderness.

Sierra Nevada Forests Management Indicator Species (SNF MIS) Amendment

Amend Land and Resource Management Plans for ten (10) Forests within the Sierra Nevada region by modifying Management Indicator Species (MIS) lists and associated monitoring strategies.

The Sierra National Forest would approve a special use permit for the installation of one fiber optic cable in a conduit of less than 2 inches for a distance of less than ½ mile (1800 feet) with a right of way of 20 feet across to Camp GM.

Upper Billy Creek Campground Rehabilitation Project

The project would rehabilitate and replace existing campsites, ancillary amenities, and associated roads and parking spurs at the Upper Billy Creek Campground.
