Dumont Lake Picnic Site is located 22 miles southeast of Steamboat Springs on U.S. Highway 40 near the base of Rabbit Ears Peak. Dumont Lake is located at the picnic area, which is separate from the campground. There are 6 picnic tables with fire grates, vault toilets and garbage services available. The lake is restricted to electric motors or hand propelled boats only. The area offers spin and fly fishing in both lakes and streams, access to hiking, backpacking, and mountain biking on the many nearby dirt roads and trails. The area borders on the Continental Divide and sits on top of the Park Range, offering spectacular views of several Colorado mountain ranges. Bird watchers and wildflower enthusiasts will find this area a paradise.

This site is managed by the Hahns Peak/Bears Ears Ranger District.

Directions: Directions from Steamboat Springs: Travel 22 miles southeast on US Highway 40 (Rabbit Ears Pass). Head north on Forest Service Road 315, the picnic site is located about 1 mile off the highway.
