This page contains information on safety, area and location closures, and forest orders issued for the Fremont-Winema National Forest.
Forest Orders are legal prohibitions, which are issued by a National Forest Officer. They are issued when the Forest Officer considers them necessary for the protection or administration of the National Forest or for promotion of public health, safety, or welfare. Each order includes a specific type of occupancy or use, period of time, and location.
General Prohibitions for all Forest Service Lands
The following regulation describes general prohibitions, closures and regulations for acts or omissions within the National Forest System or on a National Forest System road or trail: 36 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Section 251.

Public Use Restriction
Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. § 551, 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(a) and (b), the following prohibitions apply to all lands within the Fremont-Winema National Forest. This Order becomes effective on July 18, 2025, through November 01, 2025, unless rescinded sooner.

Hagelstein Fire Area Emergency Closure
Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. 551, 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(a) and (b), the following acts are prohibited on National Forest System lands and roads within the following described area on the Fremont-Winema National Forest, Chiloquin Ranger District, as described in the attached Exhibit A.
