Public Safety

All roads within the fire area remain closed to the public with the exception of Hwy 120. Rim Fire personnel and resources continue to work in the area. Hazards may include rocks and debris on roads, weakened trees, and tree limbs that may fall without notice. Please use extra caution when driving as logging trucks are using major roads including Highways 108, 120, and 49.

  • Portions of the Groveland Ranger District are closed to public use due to the Rim Fire (Forest Order STF-2013-15).  Cherry Lake Road (1N07), Cottonwood Rd. (1N04), Lumsden Rd. (1N10) and other Forest Service roads within the burned area are closed. State Highway 120 and Evergreen road are open to thru traffic only.  Click here to view recreation conditions report.
