Before You Visit

Please read the safe visit and hazard tree guidelines and the mountain pine beetle infestation information below.

Mountain pine beetle infestations continue to spread on national forests, state forests and private lands in Colorado and Wyoming. For more information, please click on the heading.

Closures and Delayed Openings

Closures and delayed openings may be in effect for a variety of reasons, including muddy conditions, snowpack, and damage resulting from runoff and flooding. Roads and campgrounds may also be closed because conditions are unsafe as a result of the mountain pine beetle infestation.  Some areas are closed for safety reasons while crews work to remove hazard trees.  All closures are ordered to ensure that the public remains safe while visiting National Forest System lands.  The Forest Service works to reopen these temporary closures as soon as possible.

Conditions may change quickly. Please call the ranger district office in the area you plan to visit to get the most current information about roads and campgrounds. For information about closures and delayed openings, please click here.
