Advisory Committees

Uinta-Wasatch-Cache Resource Advisory Committee

Individuals are being sought to represent a variety of interests on the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest Resource Advisory Committee (RAC). 

The RAC is authorized through the Secure Rural Schools Act as a mechanism for local community collaboration with federal land managers.

· Committee members meet at least twice a year to review, recommend, and monitor approved projects

· Projects are funded based on national forest receipts through the Secure Rural Schools Acts

· Members serve a four-year, voluntary term and are appointed by the Secretary of Agriculture

· Members must reside in the State of Utah

There are currently fifteen, and three alternate, positions available on the UWC RAC.  The positions are voluntary and committee members commit to two meetings annually.  Meetings are held in the Salt Lake City area and in the field to monitor projects.
Interested individuals must complete the Committee Membership Interest and Nomination Application Forms - Both Forms Require Origional Signatures.

The Secure Rural Schools legislation was not authorized and funded.  Without SRS the law reverts to the 1908 shared receipts formula.  The payments under the 1908 law are a small percentage of the SRS payment and all the funding is for roads and schools.
