Rock Creek Trailhead

Rock Creek Trailhead is located on the south side of Lake Como. It offers access to the Rock Creek Trail #580 to Elk Lake or can be used to do the 7.1 mile loop around Lake Como. The parking area is split into a stock trailer only loop (right upon entry), and passenger vehicle parking (Left upon entry).  The trailhead shares an entrance with, and is in close proximity to, the Rock Creek Horse Camp.

General Information

Stock parking is recommended in the parking area at Rock Creek Horse Camp/Trailhead. 

While passenger vehicle parking is available at this site, there is additional parking in a small gravel lot approximately 0.5 miles past the boat launch.

  • Pets must be leashed.  
  • Food storage Required. 

Day Use:
$5 per vehicle per day
$30 per season

Day use fee is required from Memorial Day-Labor Day 

Passes are required to be displayed and visible from outside the vehicle.  

Pets must be leashed until on the trail.

Directions

From Darby,MT travel north for 4 miles on Highway 93. Turn west (left) onto Lake Como Rd. Follow for 4 miles, then turn left into trailhead. 

Parking

Upon entrance to the trailhead, the loop to the right is reserved for stock trailers only. Passenger vehicles should park in the individual spaces to the left of the outhouse.  Additional parking is also available in a small gravel lot approximately 0.5 miles past the boat launch.
