Aspen Grove Campground closure
Aspen Grove Campground will be closed from July 6-September 30. Work will include reconstruction of entire campground. Improvements include accessibility compliance, site reconfiguration to meet modern camper sizes, added pull through sites, water distribution system replacement, new site furnishings, and road reconditioning.

FOREST ORDER
National Forest System Campground –Aspen Campground Closure
Pursuant to 16 USC 551 and Title 36 CFR 261.50 (a) and (b), the following orders and restrictions regarding Aspen Campground on the Lincoln Ranger District, Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest are hereby enacted:
PROHIBITION:
- Public health and safety. [36 CFR 261.53 (e)]
PURPOSE:
This order prohibits entry onto National Forest System Lands and includes all methods of travel (foot, mechanized, motorized and stock) on Aspen Grove Campground, that is hereby incorporated into this order and depicted on the attached map (Attachment A). This closure is for public safety due to campground modernization updates, lengthening parking spurs and pull-throughs, and other campground improvements from 1800 on July 6th through 1800 on September 30th, 2025.
AREA CLOSURE DESCRIPTION:
This campground closure is approximately 4 miles west of the intersection of Hwy 200 and Flesher Pass on the south of Hwy 200, in Lincoln, MT, at T14N, R7W, and section 12. This closure is for the Aspen Grove Campground and group sites on the Lincoln Ranger District on the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest and depicted on the map (Attachment A).
IMPLEMENTATION:
This order will be in effect from 1800 on July 6th, 2025 and shall remain in effect until 1800 on September 30, 2025, or until the order is rescinded, whichever occurs first.
These prohibitions are in addition to the general prohibitions in 36 CFR Part 261, Subpart A.
EXEMPTIONS:
Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order:
1) Persons with a permit specifically authorizing the otherwise prohibited act or omission.
2) Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty; and
3) Any other person meeting exemption requirements specified in the order.
VIOLATION:
Violation of these prohibitions is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, imprisonment for not more than 6 months, or both. (16 U.S.C. 551 and 18 U.S.C. 3559 and 3571).
INFORMATION:
Any person wishing to use a National Forest System road or trail or a portion of the National Forest System, should contact the Forest Supervisor, Director, Administrator, or District Ranger to ascertain the special restrictions which may be applicable thereto.
