Blankenship Vegetation Treatment Project
The Blankenship Project is located in the northwestern portion of the Little Belt Mountains. It is within the Dry Fork of Belt Creek drainage which is just east of Monarch, Montana. The project proposal includes commercial harvesting, pre-burn slashing, prescribed burning, road reconstruction, and temporary road construction. Approximately 1,100 acres are proposed for vegetative treatment. This project proposes 2.3 miles of road reconstruction and 4.3 miles of temporary road construction. All temporary roads would be fully obliterated after project implementation.
