The Cabinet Ranger District is based out of the small, northwestern town of Trout Creek, Montana. The office is easy to locate right off of Highway 200, two miles west of Trout Creek.
The Cabinet Ranger District is full of recreation opportunities. The Clark Fork Reservoir, Bull River, and nearby streams provide abundant water-based recreation with fishing, boating, and rafting opportunities. The Cabinet Mountain Wilderness is partially located on the district, offering wonderful hiking trails. There are several developed campgrounds and three rental lookouts on the District. This area offers an adventure for those seeking outdoor activities with a view!
Although services, including cell coverage, are limited in the local area, the opportunity to experience the wildlife, huckleberries, and the quiet side of nature are abundant.
